This work extends my ongoing *Basins* series, which imagines the Fountain of Youth not as a distant myth but as a living structure within the body. The tiered forms echo the spinal column—an inner architecture where renewal pools, spills, and circulates. In this painting, that internal fountain erupts into a more chaotic, dreamlike ecology. Figures, creatures, and currents drift in and out of definition, as if the body’s own regenerative forces were spilling beyond their boundaries and mingling with the world around them.
The drips and splashes suggest motion that can’t be contained, a reminder that vitality is not a fixed state but a continual overflow. By letting the imagery blur between anatomical and fantastical, I’m exploring how myth and physiology mirror each other: both are systems we use to understand how we endure, replenish, and transform. |
